Better Ennis Submission on the Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy 2040 (LSMATS)

Transport and mobility provision has a significant impact on our public health and quality of life. Transport infrastructure impacts on our town and village centres and provides connectivity within the Mid-West region, nationally and internationally. Transport provision has social, economic and environmental impacts. It is important to get this strategy right.

Better Ennis has submitted our feedback on the draft transport strategy for the next twenty years, prepared by the National Transport Authority for the Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area. We would like to see a significantly revised strategy with two additional rounds of extensive public consultation.

The Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy 2040 (LSMATS) is important in that it will be adopted into the statutory Clare County Development Plan, as well as the Limerick City and County Development Plan, both of which are commencing preparation.
